Electrolysis Hair Removal
The only hair removal method the FDA recognizes as permanent — offered by licensed electrologists since our founding in 1993.
A Practice Built on Electrolysis
Our Original Service
Laser Care Cosmetic Centers was founded in 1993 by Loretta Andreottola, RN, Licensed Electrologist — electrolysis is the treatment this practice was built on, more than 30 years before "laser hair removal" was a household term. Today, Lindsay Brown and Lauren Andreottola have both completed electrology school and passed their state board exams to become Licensed Electrologists as well, continuing that tradition into a third generation of care.
Electrolysis works by inserting a fine, sterile probe into each individual hair follicle and applying a small amount of energy to permanently disable it — which is why it's the only hair removal method the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recognizes as permanent, for any hair color and any skin tone. Our electrologists perform every treatment on an Apilus electrolysis system, the industry standard for safe, precise follicle treatment.
Why Choose Electrolysis
The Only Method for Every Hair Type
Laser hair removal targets pigment in the hair — which means it can't treat every hair color. Electrolysis can.
Gray, white, blonde, and red hair have little to no pigment for a laser to target. Electrolysis treats the follicle directly, regardless of hair color.
Because electrolysis doesn't rely on contrast between skin and hair pigment, it's a safe, effective option for every skin tone.
Electrolysis is ideal for stray hairs, fine facial hair, and detail work — including touch-ups after a laser hair removal package.
Electrolysis is the only hair removal method the FDA recognizes as permanent, when a full course of treatment is completed.
Specialized Care
Eyebrow Shaping & Hormonal Hair Growth
Beyond full-body hair removal, Lindsay and Lauren provide electrolysis for two areas that take real specialized skill.
Electrolysis is a precise way to shape and define eyebrows, removing stray hairs one follicle at a time for clean, symmetrical results that stay gone — unlike tweezing or waxing, which only pulls hair out temporarily.
Conditions like PCOS and other hormonal imbalances can cause excess facial and body hair that's resistant to at-home methods. Lindsay and Lauren build ongoing electrolysis treatment plans specifically for clients managing hormonal hair growth.
Your Treatment
What to Expect
Electrolysis is performed one follicle at a time, so treatment is billed by session length rather than by package like laser hair removal. Because hair grows in cycles, most clients need a series of sessions over time to treat all the follicles in an area as they reach their active growth phase — your electrologist will build a treatment plan around your goals during your consultation.
Many clients use electrolysis for facial hair, eyebrow shaping, or as a finishing touch on areas previously treated with laser hair removal, since it can catch the lighter or finer hairs laser can leave behind.
Treating a Larger Area?
Ask Us About Laser Hair Removal
For larger areas with dark, coarse hair, laser hair removal can often clear more surface area per session. Many clients combine both: laser for larger areas, electrolysis for detail work, stray hairs, or hair colors laser can't treat.

Laser hair removal uses light energy to target pigment in the hair and works best on larger areas with dark, coarse hair. Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time with a fine probe and works on any hair color or skin tone. Many clients use both — laser for larger areas, electrolysis for detail work or hair laser can't treat.
Yes. Hormonal imbalances, including PCOS, can cause excess facial and body hair that doesn't respond well to at-home removal. Lindsay and Lauren have experience building ongoing electrolysis treatment plans tailored to clients managing hormonal hair growth.
